Abhyanga
An invitation to reconnect with the natural rhythm of your body…
In Ayurveda, Abhyanga is more than just a massage, it’s a sacred practice of self-renewal designed to restore harmony within the body, mind, and spirit.
This deeply nourishing treatment stimulates the srotas (circulatory channels), encouraging the free flow of energy and promoting balance across the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. As the vital vayus (winds) move through the system, they awaken the nadi pathways, 72,000 subtle channels that carry consciousness throughout the body. When these energy pathways are clear, the entire being is revitalised, and the body and mind align in a state of deep equilibrium.
What to Expect in a Session
Each Abhyanga session begins with a brief consultation to understand your unique Ayurvedic constitution and any areas of imbalance. Warm, herbal-infused oils, carefully chosen to support your dosha and imbalance, are applied with flowing, rhythmic strokes that both relax the body and activate its subtle energy channels. As muscular tension melts away, the deeper work begins: the massage encourages the detoxification process, stimulates circulation, and awakens the nadi system, allowing prana (life force) to flow freely. This holistic approach fosters deep relaxation while nourishing both the physical and energetic bodies.
